On December 17, at the Rongpiao Tea-house in Jingronghui, a vibrant dialogue between Chengdu and the guests from the Middle-East kicked off in full swing. The 2026 GITEX Universe China Roadshow made its debut in Chengdu, opening a golden window for Chengdu enterprises to access digital new blue ocean.

“企业出海将不再是‘个体行为’，而要转变为‘城市的系统性支持’，助力蓉企蓉品出川出海。”市开放中心负责人道出了“开放成都”合作伙伴计划的深层意义。这场由四川省技术转移中心、迪拜世界贸易中心、商务部外贸发展局、成都市对外开放合作促进中心共同主办的活动，吸引了百余位企业代表参与。

“For enterprises going global, the model will shift from individual efforts to systematic support from the city, empowering Chengdu enterprises and their products to expand beyond Sichuan and into global markets.” remarked the Head of Chengdu Opening-up and International Cooperation Center (COICC) as he shed light on the significance of the Chengdu &Partners Program (C&P). The 2026 GITEX Universe China Roadshow, co-sponsored by the Sichuan Provincial Tech-Transfer Center, Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce (TDB), and COICC, gathered representatives from over a hundred enterprises.

GITEX, a technology event originating in the Middle East, has evolved into a global platform with influences reaching four continents. At the roadshow, Bilal Al-Rais, Vice President of DWTC, introduced that GITEX hosts over 10,000 startup enterprise matchmaking events worldwide annually and has assisted over 800 Chinese enterprises in securing buyers and investors in Dubai, with an ambitious target to grow this figure to over 3,000. Backed by a dedicated team consisting of nearly 100 professionals, GITEX provides all-round services including resources matching and investment analysis. It extends a warm welcome to inquiries from Chengdu enterprises.

商务部外贸发展局曾花城副局长强调，企业“走出去”，需要优质平台搭桥，也需要坚实后盾护航。在稳外贸的背景下，积极利用类似GITEX这样的高水平国际性展会平台，对企业拓展发展空间、融入全球产业链具有重要意义。

Mr. Zeng Huacheng, Deputy Director-General of TDB, emphasized that enterprises going global need both premium platforms to bridge the gap and solid anchors to offset the risks. Under the principle of ensuring the stability of foreign trade, proactively leveraging high-level international exhibitions and conventions like GITEX is highly instrumental for enterprises to seek more development room and integrate into the global industrial chains.

Head of COICC observed that through connecting with and integrating premium international exhibition and convention resources like GITEX, COICC helps local enterprises to engage in economic and trade resources matchmaking, explore overseas markets, and drive the practical implementation of the strategic model of “international exhibitions and conventions matchmaking + scenario demonstrations +overseas-expansion services”.

The rapid rise of the digital economy in the Gulf region has positioned it as a new blue ocean for Chinese digital technology enterprises going global. At the roadshow, DWTC made explicit offer of support to the “Made-in-China Initiative”, with a focus on boosting the demand of overseas markets for Chinese products and services in sectors such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, etc. This strategy aligns closely with Chengdu’s industrial strengths. The event also featured sessions interpreting policies and financial support measures, empowering the participating enterprises with concrete policies.

正如成都人形机器人创新中心的海外事业部负责人蔡宇扬所说，GITEX展会是响应国家“高科技出海”战略的重要平台。他以本次活动为契机，更好地了解GITEX展会在中东欧、东南亚的布局与政策，并借助市开放中心链接资源、搭建合作平台。

Cai Yuyang, Director of the Overseas Business Department, Chengdu Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, noted that the GITEX serves as a crucial platform practicing the national “high-tech going global” strategy. Seizing on this event, Cai gained deeper apprehension of GITEX’s general pictures and detailed policies in Central and Eastern Europe as well as Southeast Asia. Going forward, he plans to work together with COICC to connect with overseas resources and build platforms for partnership.
